Privacy policy
Fort Wars collects no personal data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and makes no network calls during play. This page spells that out in the detail the App Store, Google Play and privacy law all ask for.
Effective 25 July 2026 · Last updated 25 July 2026 · Applies to the Fort Wars mobile game on iOS and Android and to www.fortwars.baruzotech.com
1. The short version
The game collects nothing about you. Fort Wars runs entirely on your device. There is no sign-up, no account, no profile, no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter and no social login. The app makes no network requests during normal play, which is why it works on a plane.
The website is a different matter, and a small one. It uses Google Analytics for basic visitor counts: aggregate, not linked to your identity, with ad and cross-device signals switched off. And if you personally type an email address into the launch-notification form, we hold that address until we email you once at launch. Both are described in full in §5.
Everything below explains that in the detail regulators and app stores expect. If anything here is unclear, email info@baruzotech.com and a human will answer.
2. Who we are
Fort Wars is developed and published by BaruzoTech(“we”, “us”, “our”). For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, BaruzoTech is the data controller for any personal data described in this policy.
- Studio: baruzotech.com
- Privacy contact: info@baruzotech.com
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, because the scale and nature of our processing does not require one. Privacy questions go to the address above and are handled by the studio directly.
3. What the game collects
Nothing. To be specific, the Fort Wars app does not collect, transmit, sell, share or store any of the following:
- Name, email address, postal address, phone number or any other contact detail
- User accounts, passwords or authentication tokens
- Precise or coarse location, GPS, or IP-derived location
- Contacts, calendar, photos, camera, microphone or health data
- Device identifiers used for advertising (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android)
- Behavioural or usage analytics, heat maps, session recordings or funnels
- Crash logs or diagnostic reports sent to us
- Purchase history, because there is nothing to purchase
- Any data about your other apps or your browsing
Because none of this is collected, none of it can be breached, sold, subpoenaed from us, or fed into advertising or AI training. That is a deliberate design decision, not an oversight.
4. Data stored on your device
The game does keep a small amount of information so that it can remember where you are up to. All of it stays in the app’s private storage area on your own device and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Levels completed, stars earned and best times | So the campaign remembers your progress |
| Chosen difficulty | So the level list opens where you left it |
| Settings: music, sound effects, reduced motion, haptics | So your preferences survive a restart |
Deleting the app deletes all of it. On iOS, this data may be included in an iCloud or encrypted local backup if you have backups switched on; that backup belongs to you and is governed by Apple’s terms, not ours. On Android, the same applies to Google’s Backup service if you have it enabled. We cannot read, restore or recover those backups.
5. What this website collects
Launch notifications
If you enter an email address into the “Notify me at launch” form, we store that address for one purpose: to email you once, when the game is released. We do not add you to a newsletter, we do not profile you, and we do not sell, rent or share the address with anyone.
You can have it removed at any time by emailing info@baruzotech.com. We delete the whole list once the launch email has been sent.
Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4 for basic, aggregate measurement: how many people visited, which pages they read, which country they came from, and whether the site is working. That is the whole purpose. We use it to decide what to write next, not to build a picture of you.
The data is not linked to your identity. We do not collect your name, email address or account, and we never combine analytics data with anything that would identify you. Google Analytics assigns a randomly generated identifier so that two page views in one visit can be counted as one visit rather than two people; that identifier is meaningless outside our reports and is not tied to you as a person. We have also explicitly switched off the features that would make it less anonymous:
- IP anonymisation is on. Your IP address is truncated before it is stored.
- Google Signals is off. No cross-device linking, no demographic or interest profiles.
- Ad personalisation is off. Nothing measured here is used to build advertising audiences, by us or by Google.
- No User-ID. We never send Google an identifier of our own.
We report what we do in good faith and in plain language: strictly speaking this data is pseudonymous rather than perfectly anonymous, because a random per-browser identifier exists at all. It is not linked to you, we cannot use it to work out who you are, and we do not try to.
Google acts as our data processor for this, under Google’s own Ads Data Processing Terms. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit with Google’s browser add-on, or by blocking analytics in your browser or an extension. The site works exactly the same either way.
Cookies and other trackers
Google Analytics sets a first-party cookie to count a visit consistently. Beyond that, this site sets no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. There is no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no session recorder and no ad network of any kind.
None of this applies to the game.Fort Wars itself contains no analytics of any sort, Google’s or anyone else’s, and makes no network calls while you play.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard web server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent and response code) as essentially every web server does. These are used only to keep the site up and to investigate abuse or errors, are not combined with anything else, are not used to build a profile of you, and are rotated out on the provider’s normal schedule.
6. Device permissions
Fort Wars requests no runtime permissions. It does not ask for, and cannot access, your camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, calendar, location, Bluetooth, files, call logs, SMS or nearby devices. The only optional system feature it uses is the haptic engine (vibration), which you can switch off in the game’s Settings screen and which requires no permission prompt.
7. Advertising and tracking identifiers
Fort Wars contains no advertising. It does not read the iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or the Android Advertising ID, and it does not use device fingerprinting, SDK-to-SDK identifier sharing, or any other cross-app tracking technique.
Because we do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, the app does notpresent Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to ask permission for.
8. Third-party services
The Fort Wars app bundles no third-party SDKs: no ad networks, no attribution or mediation partners, no analytics vendors, no A/B testing tools, no push messaging service and no social sharing kits.
The only third parties involved in Fort Wars at all are:
- Apple and Google, who distribute the app and process the download itself under their own privacy policies (see the next section).
- Google Analytics, which measures visits to this website, not the game, as our data processor, with ad personalisation and Google Signals disabled. See §5.
- Our website host, which serves this site and keeps the server logs described above as a processor acting on our instructions.
- Our email provider, used only to deliver the single launch email if you asked for one, again as a processor acting on our instructions.
9. Apple and Google
When you download Fort Wars, the store handles that transaction, not us. Apple and Google may collect information about the download under their own policies, and they may give us aggregated, anonymised reports, for example “this many downloads in Germany last week”, or a crash-rate summary. That reporting is not linked to you, and we never receive your identity, your Apple ID, your Google account or your device identifier.
- Apple’s privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
10. Store privacy labels
Both stores require developers to declare their data practices. These declarations describe the Fort Wars app, which collects nothing. The website analytics in §5 are not part of the app and are not covered by these labels. no analytics SDK of any kind is bundled into the game.
Apple App Store: privacy “nutrition label”
Data Not Collected.Fort Wars does not collect any data across all of Apple’s categories: Contact Info, Health & Fitness, Financial Info, Location, Sensitive Info, Contacts, User Content, Browsing History, Search History, Identifiers, Purchases, Usage Data, Diagnostics and Other Data.
Google Play: Data safety section
- Data collected: none.
- Data shared with third parties: none.
- Data encrypted in transit: not applicable, because the app transmits no user data.
- Data deletion: all game data is local; uninstalling removes it. A deletion request route is provided at §17.
- Committed to the Play Families Policy: yes.
- Independent security review: not applicable, because no data is transmitted.
11. Children’s privacy
Fort Wars is suitable for all ages. It contains no violence beyond abstract coloured towers changing hands, no chat, no user-generated content, no links out to the web from within gameplay, no advertising and no purchases.
Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either. We therefore do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) as those terms are used in the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR, and the Google Play Families Policy.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information (realistically, by typing an email address into the form on this website), email info@baruzotech.com and we will delete it promptly.
12. Legal bases (GDPR and UK GDPR)
Where the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases for the very small amount of processing we do:
| Processing | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Storing your email address to send one launch notification | Consent, Article 6(1)(a). You gave it by submitting the form and may withdraw it at any time. |
| Google Analytics measurement of this website | Consent under Article 6(1)(a), where your local law requires consent for analytics cookies; otherwise legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f), namely understanding whether our own site works. You can opt out at any time; see §5. |
| Web server logs used to keep the site available and secure | Legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f), namely operating and defending our own website. |
| Responding to a support or press email you send us | Legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f), namely answering the person who contacted us. |
We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
13. How long we keep data
- Game data: kept on your device until you delete the app. We never hold a copy.
- Launch-notification email addresses: kept until the launch email is sent, then deleted, or sooner if you ask.
- Website analytics: retained by Google for 14 months at most, then deleted automatically. We only ever look at the aggregate reports.
- Support correspondence: kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up on a recurring bug, then deleted.
- Server logs: kept for the short rotation period set by our hosting provider, typically no more than 30 days.
14. International transfers
Our website and email are operated using service providers that may store data outside your home country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where personal data originating in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom is transferred outside it, that transfer is covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum where relevant) in our contracts with those providers, or by an adequacy decision.
Google Analytics processes website measurement data on Google’s infrastructure, which includes servers in the United States. Those transfers rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses incorporated into Google’s Ads Data Processing Terms, and on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where it applies.
The game itself transfers nothing, anywhere, at any time.
15. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to: confirm whether we hold personal data about you; give you a copy of it; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; port it to another provider; and withdraw consent you previously gave.
Since the only personal data we might hold is an email address you typed into this website, exercising any of these rights takes one message to info@baruzotech.com. We will respond within 30 days and we will not charge you or make you create an account to do it.
16. US state privacy rights
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have rights to know, access, correct, delete and, where applicable, opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not process it for targeted advertising or profiling. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months. There is therefore no “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism to operate, but you are welcome to email us to confirm this in writing, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
17. Deleting your data
Fort Wars has no accounts, so there is no account to delete. To remove your data:
- Game progress: uninstall Fort Wars from your device. That permanently removes every level, star, best time and setting stored locally. If you also want it gone from a device backup, remove that backup through iCloud or Google Backup.
- Your email address, if you gave us one: send a message to info@baruzotech.com with the subject “Data deletion request”. We will delete it and confirm, normally within a few working days and always within 30 days.
This section is the data-deletion route required by the Google Play Developer Program Policy.
18. Security
The strongest security measure available is not holding data in the first place, and that is the one we have chosen. For the small amount that does exist, the launch list and support email, we use reputable providers, access is limited to the people who need it, transport is encrypted with TLS, and this website is served over HTTPS only.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe you have found a vulnerability in the game or in this website, please email info@baruzotech.com and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before disclosing it publicly. We will credit you if you would like us to.
19. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is material, for example if a future version of the game ever added an online feature, an account system or any form of analytics, we will say so plainly here before that version ships, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent rather than assume it.
20. Contact and complaints

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
